What is the Storm Plus 360W?
Storm Plus 360W combines two lightweight flexible solar panels with a Hoymiles microinverter and 1.92 kWh HiBattery AC storage, giving you solar generation and smart energy storage in one compact system.
How much energy can the battery store?
The Hoymiles HiBattery provides 1.92 kWh of LiFePO₄ battery capacity, allowing excess solar energy or lower-cost grid electricity to be stored for use later.
What happens to solar energy I don't use immediately?
The battery can store available energy for later use, helping increase self-consumption and reduce the amount of electricity you need to buy during more expensive periods.
Can the battery charge from the grid as well as solar?
Yes. HiBattery supports time-of-use charging, allowing it to charge during lower-cost tariff periods and discharge when electricity is more expensive. Actual savings depend on your electricity tariff and usage pattern.
Can I control the battery from my phone?
Yes. The S-Miles Home app connects through Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and lets you monitor battery status, system performance and charge or discharge settings.
Where can I install the solar panels?
The lightweight flexible Storm panels are particularly suited to balconies, fences, sheds, garden offices and other suitable sun-facing surfaces. Each panel weighs just 3.5 kg.
Does the battery require an electrician?
The solar panels and microinverter are straightforward to assemble, while the Storm Plus battery system uses a professional final AC connection. Thunder can help you plan the installation and find a suitable electrician if required.
Can I add more battery capacity later?
Yes. The HiBattery platform supports expansion. Two HiBattery 1920 AC units can be combined to provide up to 3.84 kWh of storage, subject to the appropriate system configuration.
Is the battery suitable for outdoor use?
The HiBattery has an IP66 enclosure and is designed for robust installation environments. It should still be positioned in accordance with Hoymiles installation guidance, including protection from direct sunlight and rainfall.
